Goodwill Announces Free Job Readiness Training for Community Members

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Nov. 13, 2025 — Goodwill Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada announced today the availability of no-cost Job Readiness Training (JRT) to support community members seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce.

The JRT program provides skill-building in the following areas:
• Resume development
• Interview preparation
• Workplace communication
• Professionalism
• Job search strategies

"We're excited to make this training available to the public so more people can gain valuable skills and take the next step toward changing the course of their future."

Job Readiness Training is offered through Goodwill's Jobs(+) Center and is open to the public. Community members may access computers, internet and printers, receive one-on-one support from Employment Specialists, prepare resumes and practice interview skills, and connect with local employment and training resources.

Walk-in hours are:
Tuesdays: 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Wednesdays: 1–3 p.m.
Thursdays: 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

The JRT program launched in September 2024 with funding from the State of California, administered by the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) as part of the California Regional Initiative for Social Enterprise (CA RISE). Led by REDF and Lendistry, this initiative aims to advance social enterprise growth and expand employment opportunities for individuals overcoming barriers to employment.
